‘Showcasing Nigerian Youth to the world in a different perspective’

The Nigerian Youth in Diaspora UK Awards is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom designed to highlight the extraordinary achievements of young Nigerians and give them the recognition and encouragement they deserve.

Our aim is to identify and celebrate high achieving young Nigerians in different field of endeavours who dedicate their time in the UK and diaspora to ensuring that the image of Nigeria is projected positively to the world. These youth, work selflessly and inspire other youth to also become high achievers and stay positive.
We strongly believe these unsung heroes who have voluntarily decided to be worthy ambassadors of our Great Nation deserve to be encouraged.


Nominations Open Sunday 8th September 2019 to Monday 7th October 2019.


There are 2 ways to submit nominations

  1. Use the Nominations page on our website or

2. Email the requested information below and send to no later than 11.59PM on 7th October 2019. 

Entrants can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone who can testify of the impact of their work.


  • Nominee’s full name.
  • Nominee’s category and award being nominated for.
  • Reason for nomination – Not more than 500 words.
  • Evidence/ Proof of impact – Nominees website/ Social media page/ linkedin page or pictoral evidence.
  • Nominees phone number and email address.


To be eligible to win an award; Nominees/ applicants must:

  • Be of Nigerian descent.
  • Meet the criteria as stipulated in their nominated category.
  • Be 35 years or under at the time of nomination.


Education and Academia

  • Literary excellence award
  • Student achiever of the year
  • Academic professional of the year. For example, teacher, lecturer etc.

Business & Entrepreneurship & Philantrophy

  • Startup of the year
  • Social enterprenuer of the year
  • Youth charity of the year

Leadership, Community development & Social action

  • Youth Leader of the year
  • Volunteer of the year
  • Politician of the year
  • Youth Achiever of the year

Science & Technology

  • Innovation of the year

Entertainment, Media & Arts (Film, music, poetry, drama, fashion)

  • Actor (Male/Female) of the year
  • Artist/ Musician (Male/Female) of the year
  • Event organiser of the year
  • Fashion personality of the year
  • Comedian of the year
  • Journalist of the year

Sports & Culture

  • Sports personality of the year
  • Cultural ambassador of the year

Finalists will be shortlisted in each award categories and notified by the 10th of October 2019. Finalists in each award categories will then be invited to the main awards event on Friday 25th October, where the winner will be announced.
